Most recent performance

There are currently no scheduled performances of Chroma. It was last on stage 10–19 November 2016 as part of the Autumn 2016/17 season.

Wayne McGregor’s Chroma explores the drama of the human body and its ability to communicate extremes of thought and emotion. The score is drawn from original music by Joby Talbot and his arrangements of music by American rock band The White Stripes, while acclaimed architect John Pawson provides stark, minimalist designs. Against this backdrop, McGregor’s highly inventive choreography unfurls with ferocious energy.

Chroma had its premiere in 2006 at the Royal Opera House and in 2007 received an Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production. Its success paved the way for McGregor’s appointment as Resident Choreographer of The Royal Ballet. A popular favourite with audiences and critics, Chroma is a classic of contemporary ballet.
