Jonathan Kent's new production of the opera that shot Puccini to fame is The Royal Opera's first in more than thirty years. We went behind the scenes to bring you a sneak preview, before the 17 June premiere.

The Royal Opera has assembled an all-star cast, including Kristīne OpolaisJonas Kaufmann and Christopher Maltman, with The Royal Opera's Music Director Antonio Pappano conducting.

Manon Lescaut marks the return to the Royal Opera House of Jonathan Kent and designer Paul Brown after their acclaimed 2006 production of Tosca.

Manon Lescaut runs from 22 November–12 December 2016. Tickets are still available. This is a co-production with Shanghai Grand Theatre.

It is so great to see live opera at the cinema. You probably get a better view than you would at the 'house'.
Loved the singing and performances frlom Kristina and Jonas were superb and they looked so good together. Very confused with some of the scenery design but fortunately it did not distract from the performance. Looking forward to the next cinema live production.
