Leaders in Cultural Learning

Royal Opera House Bridge's Leaders in Cultural Learning (LiCL) Programmes will focus on change leadership and are aimed at middle and senior leaders in schools and leaders in the education sector. They will strengthen the ability of experienced educators to lead cultural learning in their school or in a community of schools, and be an advocate for the benefits of cultural learning more widely

Leaders for Impact, Royal Opera House Bridge's flagship LiCL programme will open for new applicants on 16 April 2018.

The Professional Development of Teachers as Leaders in Cultural Education emerged in response to Darren Henley’s (2014) recommendations in his review of Cultural Education. His findings suggest that Bridge organizations are best placed to support cultural organizations and schools foster collaborative working practices to deliver quality Cultural Education to children and young people.

In 2016/17, Royal Opera House Bridge piloted two further Leaders in Cultural learning programme: one in Bedford (led by the Pilgrim Teaching School Alliance) and one in Thurrock (as part of Thurrock Trailblazer)
