Connect Reflect

Aims

Connect: Reflect aims to support the arts and cultural sector to work strategically with both the education sector and with relevant partners to provide high quality arts and cultural offer for children and young people. It will focus on furthering ambition, building resilience, understanding the bigger picture and trying something new.

Who Should Attend?

This programme is designed for middle and senior managers in arts and cultural organisations and Local Authority staff delivering against the cultural agenda.

Commitment

The programme is heavily subsidised by ROH Bridge and it is expected that you will attend all three days of Connect: Reflect and make time between sessions to identify and carry out an enquiry project or piece of action research related to your context. Because each day follows on from the previous one, if you miss one of the days you will forfeit your place on the rest of the programme.

You will also be required to have discussed this programme with your line manager and to have agreed tangible outcomes for your organisation and how the learning will be shared internally. Your Line Manger will also be required to attend part of day three.

Cost

The main cost of the programme is covered by Royal Opera House Bridge but we ask delegates to pay a small fee to contribute towards venue and catering of £100.

Programme Structure

Connect: Reflect comprises three one-day sessions. You must attend all 3 days:

Day 1: Inspiration & Information

An opportunity to hear about some of the key national, regional and local agendas and priorities such as the Cultural Education Challenge, Arts Award and digital learning as well as to explore the changing educational and cultural landscape with your peers.

Day 2: Question & Action

A practical day focussed on developing a key question or piece of work for your organisation and an action plan to test it out in the coming weeks. The day will also include building a co-mentoring relationship with a peer who will act as a critical friend during your enquiry project.

Day 3: Reflection & Evaluation

An opportunity to share the results of your enquiry project with the rest of the group and with your line managers who will be invited to attend and respond. There will also be time to explore how you’re going to move forward and to reflect on the impact of your project and the programme as a whole.
