Background

Under oppression what extremes will you go to? What leads to revolution or ruin? In the midst of a Season celebrating some of history’s great tales of personal and political struggle, we explore the role of poetry and opera in narrating the voices central to this turmoil. This special event features poetry performance, discussion and music from Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Macbeth and From the House of the Dead.
